The Uniformed Security and Patrol Divisions offer employment possibilities to those individuals seeking to gain valuable experience in the security industry.  The availability and selection of positions offered to candidates is more diverse than most security organizations.  Depending on the candidate’s particular training and previous security, law enforcement or military experience, Tenable Protective Services can offer a number of considerations.

All positions within the Uniformed Security and Patrol Divisions require candidates to be 21 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalence, declare a clear criminal background and hold a superior driving record.  All applicants will submit to pre-hire toxicology testing.

• The most common position that Tenable Protective Services offers is an entry-level uniformed security officer.  This position is unarmed and requires one year of security experience or two years of customer service related work experience.  Officers working these positions are commonly placed at shopping centers, corporate offices and industrial work sites.
• Armed uniformed security positions are also available but in a limited setting.  Candidates for armed security positions must have obtained their States Private Security Firearms certification or equivalent certification and have one year of security experience or two years of customer service related work experience.  Prior law enforcement or military experience is preferred for these positions.  Officers working these positions are commonly placed at financial institutions and special events.
• Armed Patrol Officer positions are available; however, these positions are usually reserved for candidates that have two or more years of security training and law enforcement experience.  Again, the appropriate State designated firearms certification is essential for these positions and a basic Security or Peace Officers Training Academy is also preferred.  Officers working in the capacity of an Armed Patrol Officer have the essential function of providing patrols to various clients and answering alarm response calls in a Tenable Protective Services patrol vehicle.

All rates for these positions are based on experience and the particular job site the officer will be assigned to protect.  Tenable offers health insurance to all full time employees with a company contribution of 50% of the employee’s bi-weekly premium, dental insurance, paid vacations, a large supplemental benefits and incentives package through the Cleveland Police Credit Union, advanced training and advancement opportunities.  Part time employees have the option to enroll in separate health care plans not administered through Tenable Protective Services.
