OPOTA Private Security Training Academy
|Prerequisites:||All students are required to register 30 days prior to the scheduled start date.|
An Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission approved course. Commonly referred to as the "120" course, this seven week course of instruction provides the individual with base knowledge and skills to become a security officer. A partial list of the classes in this course include: Role of Private Security; Overview of the Legal System; Ethics & Professionalism: Criminal Law; Laws of Arrest; Search & Seizure; Public Relations; Crisis Situations; Subject Control Techniques; Dealing w/ Persons w/ Developmental Disabilities; Cultural Sensitivity; Report Writing; Physical Security; First Aid/CPR; Retail Security; Personnel Security; Crime Prevention; Fire Safety; Patrol Techniques; Crowd Control; ICS; and NIMS. Each student will receive an Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission certificate upon successful completion.
The Next Private Security Academy will be held from September 9th - November 14th 2013.
